Chúng ta đang sống trong thời đại công nghệ nên chúng ta cần nắm được những từ tiếng Anh liên quan đến nó để mở rộng vốn từ và cải thiện khả năng của mình. Trong phần 1 sẽ có 21 từ vựng tiếng Anh về công nghệ, hãy lấy giấy bút ra và cùng học nhé.
Phần 1
1. computer age: the period in modern history characterized by rapid technology development and widespread computer used: Thời đại tin học
Ex: Living in a computer age has many benefits.
2. computer buff: a user who is good at working with a computer: Chuyên gia máy tính
Ex: Mike is a computer buff. He got an A+ on his programming exam.
3. computer fatigue/techie: a syndrome of tiredness resulting from long computer usage: tình trạng mệt mỏi khi sử dụng máy tính một thời gian dài
Ex: About 60% of IT specialists are affected by computer fatigue.
4. cutting-edge: something innovational and leading: thứ gì đó tiên tiến và dẫn đầu
Ex: Cutting-edge technology.
5. On/at the cutting edge (of sth): at the forefront of progress: đi đầu, hàng đầu (trong lĩnh vực nào đó)
Ex: Paul's new laptop is on the cutting edge of technology.
6. desktop PC: a personal computer that remains on a desk: máy tính cá nhân để bàn (máy tính để bàn)
Ex: I have an old desktop PC that I use for surfing the net when I’m home.
7. digital editing: a process of changing digital materials like audio or video files: biên tập (ảnh hoặc phim) trên máy tính.
Ex: Being good at digital editing is essential in our time.
8. download (podcasts): to save a copy of a file from the internet to your own device: tải về
Ex: Yesterday I downloaded a few films that I plan to watch during the weekends.
9. essential: something you can’t imagine your life without: thiết yếu, chủ yếu/ yếu tố cần thiết (n)
Ex: Internet is an essential piece of technology for many people.
10. gadget: an advanced piece of technology, like smartphone: thiết bị (công nghệ)
Ex: Nowadays almost everybody owns a gadget.
11. geek: someone who is obsessed with technology, especially computers: chuyên viên công nghệ
Ex: My friend is a real geek. He owns a bunch of computers and other gadgets.
12. hold the line: wait a minute: (điện thoại) giữ máy
Ex: She told me to hold the line, because she had to open the door.
13. large screen: a big-sized monitor: màn hình lớn
Ex: A few days ago I decided to renew my computer, so I bought a large screen for it.
14. Large-screen display (LSD): Màn hình ảnh rộng
15.light years ahead: very far away from: rất tiến bộ, đi trước thời đại
Ex: Modern computers are light years ahead of those which people used in 90s.
16. operating system: the most important program that runs the computer: hệ điều hành
Ex: I chose to buy a laptop which is based on the Windows operating system.
17. out of steam: tired, exhausted: mệt mỏi
Ex: Due to today's intense workday I am out of steam, so I won’t be able to work tomorrow.
18. rocket science: a very complicated subject for someone: một chủ đề rất phức tạp, khó khăn
Ex: Biology is a rocket science for me. I don’t understand anything in it.
19. send an attachment: send an email with an added file: gửi mail có tệp đính kèm
Ex: My brother sent an attachment with his homework to the professor.
20. silver surfer: an old person, who uses the Internet: một người cao tuổi sử dụng Internet
Ex: Uncle Bob is a silver surfer. He uses the Internet every day, although he’s almost 70.
21. social media: media used to interact with other people: mạng xã hội
Ex: Facebook is the biggest social media in the world.
