1) Join the sentences. Use Relative clauses.

(Kết hợp các câu lại với nhau. Sử dụng mệnh đề quan hệ)

Example (ví dụ):

Tet is a festival. Tet occurs in late January or early February.

(Tết là một dịp lỗ hội. Tết diễn ra vào cuối tháng Giêng hay đầu tháng Hai)

-> Tet is a festival which occurs in late January or early February.

a) Auld Lang Syne is a song. Auld Lang Syne is sung on New Year;s Eve.

-> Auld Lang Syne is a song which is sung on New Years Eve.

b) This watch is a gift. The watch was given to me by my aunt on my 14th birthday.

-> This watch is a gift which was given to me by my aunt on my 14th birthday.

c) My friend Tom can compose songs. Tom sings Western folk songs very well -» My friend Tom, who can compose songs, sings Western folk songs very well.

d) We often go to the town cultural house. The cultural house always opens on public holidays.

-> We often go to the town cultural house which always opens on public holidays.

e) I like reading books. Books tell about different peoples and their cultures.

-> I like reading books which tell about different peoples and their cultures.

0 On my murr/s birthday my dad gave her roses. The roses were very sweet and beautiful.

-> On my mum;s birthday my dad gave her roses which were very sweet and beautiful. 

g) Judy liked the full - moon festival very much. The festival happened in mid - fall.

-> Judy liked the full - moon festival which happened in mid - fall very much.

h) Tomorrow I/ll go to the airport to meet my friends. My friends come to stay with us during Christmas.

-> Tomorrow ill go to the airport to meet my friends who come to stay with US during Christmas.

2) Describe each of the people in the pictures. Use relative clause.

(Mô tả từng người trong tranh. Sử dụng mệnh đề quan hệ)

Example: I am a boy who is wearing a white T - shirt.

(Tôi là đứa con trai đang mặc áo thun trắng)

My Aunt Judy is the woman who is holding Jack.

- My mom is the woman who is sitting in an armchair and wearing a polka - dot dress.

- Linda is the girl who is giving a present to my mom.

- My dad is the man who is wearing black trousers.

- My grandmother is the woman who is wearing a long-sleeved blouse.

- My uncle John is the man who is standing behind my grand mother and Aunt Judy.

- Jack is the little boy who is sitting on my aunt Judy7s laps.

3) Join the sentences. Use the words in brackets. The first is done for you.

a) Thu Ha is not satisfied with her preparations for Tet. Thu Ha has decorated her house and made plenty of cakes, (even though)

(Thu Hà vẫn không hài lòng về những gì cô chuẩn bị cho tết mặc dù cô đã trang trí nhà cửa và làm rất nhiều bánh.)

b) We donl have a Mothers Day in Viet Nam, Dad and I have special gifts and parties for my mom every year on the 8lh of March (although)

-> Although we donỵt have a Mothers Day in Viet Nam dad and I have special gifts and parties for my mom every year on the 8lh of March.

c) We went to Ha Noi to watch the parade on The National Day last year. We live in Nam Dinh. (even though).

-> We went to Ha Noi to watch the parade on The National Day last year even though we live in Nam Dinh. 

d) Many tourists enjoy most of the festivals in Viet Nam. Tourists do not understand Vietnamese culture very much, (though).

-> Many tourists enjoy most of the festivals in Viet Nam, though they do not understand Vietnamese culture very much.

e) In Australia, Christmas season is in summer. The Australians enjoy Christmas as much as people in European countries do. (even though)

-> Even though in Australia, Christmas season is in summer, people enjoy Christmas as much as they do in other European countries .

f) Jim could see the main part of the show. He came to the show late due to the traffic jam. (although)

-> Although Jim came to the show late due to the traffic jam, he could see the main part of the show.

4) Look at the pictures, complete the sentences. Use the correct tense of verbs and the information

(Nhìn những bức tranh. Hoàn tất những câu sau. Dùng đúng thì của động từ và các thông tin.)

a) Although Mrs. Thoa was tired, she helped Tuan with his homework.

b) Even though Liz has an exam tomorrow, she is still watching TV now.

c) It rained yesterday although the weather bureau predicted the weather would be fine.

d) Ba ate a lot of food though he wasnỵt very hungry.

e) Even though the keyboard wasn;t working well, Lan tried to finish her letter.

4) Look at the pictures, complete the sentences. Use the correct tense of verbs and the information
