1. Adjectives and adverbs (Tính từ và trạng từ)

a) Đánh dấu vào khung đúng.

2. Modal verbs (Động từ khuyết thiếu)

a) Thực hành cùng với một bạn. Đọc bài hội thoại.
  Ba: Mẹ ơi cho con đi xem phim nhé?
  Mẹ: Không, con không đi được.
  Ba: Cho con đi đi Mẹ.
  Mẹ: Trước hết con phải làm bài tập về nhà. Sau đó con có thể đi.
  Ba: Tuyệt quá! Cám ơn Mẹ.
b) Nhìn các hình. Thực hiện bài hội thoại tương tự.
 b1. A  : Can I go to the football match, please?
     Mom: No, you can't.
     A  : Please, Mom!
     Mom: First you must practice your music lesson. Then you can go.

 b5. A  : Can I go roller-skating, Mom?
     Mom: No, you can't.
     A  : Please, Mom!
     Mom: First you must go to the library and borrow books. Then you
          can.
     A  : Great. Thanks, Mom.
c) Hoa gặp vài khó khăn. Sử dụng Should hoặc ought to để giúp cô ấy.
 c1. Hoa: I'm sick.
     You: You should go to a doctor.
     
 c2. Hoa: I'm hot.
     You: You ought to have a cold drink.

 c3. Hoa: I'm cold.
     You: You should put on a sweater.
 
 c4. Hoa: I'm tired.
     You: You should take a rest.

3. Expressing LIKES and DISLIKES (Diễn tả điều thích và không thích)

Thực hành cùng với một bạn cùng học. Nhìn menu. Hãy quyết định món
ăn nào để gọi. Sử dụng thông tin trong khung để giúp em.
Em muốn:   súp hoặc món khai vị hoặc món rau trộn.
           cá hoặc món hải sản
           thịt bò hoặc thịt gà
           cơm hoặc mì
- What would you like to eat?   Bạn muốn ăn gì?
- I'd like spring rolls.        Tôi thích chả giò.
- Would you like beef salad?    Bạn ăn món bò trộn nhé?
- No. I don't like beef salad.  Không. Tôi không thích mòn bò trộn.
A: What would you like for appetizer?
B: I'd like some shrimp cakes.
A: Ok. Would you like chicken?
B: What kind of chicken?
A: They have ginger chicken, fried chicken and sweet and sour chicken.
B: No. I don't really like chicken. I prefer beef.
A: What about seafood? Do you like it?
B: Oh, yes. I'd like some fried fish with tomato sauce.
A: And would you like rice or noodles?
B: I'd like some fried rice.

appetizer (n) : món khai vị         spring roll (n): chả giò
seafood (n)   : món hải sản         shrimp cake (n): bánh tôm
fried fish (n): cá chiên            stew (n)       : món hầm
beef stew (n) : bò hầm
sweet and sour chicken (n)    : gà xào chua ngọt
ginger chicken (n)            : gà kho gừng
shrimp paste on sugar cane (n): chạo tôm
rice noodles (n)              : bún gạo

4. Tense (Các thì)

Đọc các câu, đánh dấu (v) vào cột đúng.

5. Because (Bởi vì)

a) Đọc bài hội thoại.
Nam: Màu ưa thích của bạn là màu gì, Lan?
Lan: Màu đỏ.
Nam: Tại sao?
Lan: Vì nó (chỉ sự) may mắn.
Bây giờ thực hành với một bạn cùng học. Viết bài hội thoại tương
tự. Dùng từ trong bảng và khung để giúp em.
1. Ba : What's your favorite color, Nam?
   Nam: White.
   Ba : Why?
   Nam: Because it's pure.
2. Nga: What's your favorite color, Lan?
   Lan: Pink.
   Nga: Why?
   Lan: Because it's happy.
3. Thu: What's your favorite color, Hoa?
   Hoa: Blue.
   Thu: Why?
   Hoa: Because it's hopeful.
   
b) Hỏi bạn cùng học của em. Thay phiên là A.
1. Nam: What kind of sports do you like?
   Ba : Soccer.
   Nam: Why not?
   Ba : Because it's exciting.
2. Mai: Do you like wrestling, Lan?
   Lan: No, I don't like it.
   Mai: Why not?
   Lan: Because it's very dangerous.
3. Minh : Do you like any sport, Phong?
   Phong: Yes, of course.
   Minh : What sport do you like?
   Phong: Table-tennis.
   Minh : Why?
   Phong: Because it's skillful.
   
c) 1. A: What's your favorite TV program?
      B: It's the cartoon program.
      A: Why?
      B: Because they're funny and interesting.
   2. A: What's your favorite TV program?
      B: It's the "World of Wonder - WOW" program.
      A: Why?
      B: Because it's very useful. It gives us much knowledge.
      A: I prefer the "World of Animals".
   3. A: Do you watch TV?
      B: Oh, yes.
      A: What's your favorite program?
      B: It's the "Health for Everyone".
      A: Why?
      B: Because it gives us a lot of useful things about our
         health.
      A: I prefer the "Good Medicine" program, because it gives
         us new information and interesting inventions in medicine.
